The Peninsula

It was in the 16th Century that the Presqu'île became an area of harbour, industrial and commercial activities. Industrial and craft activities continue here to this day. The Presqu'île has undergone a number of urbanising modifications, notably with the creation of housing and food shops. Cultural facilities have been established since 2007, with the arrival of the Cargö and the Ateliers Intermédiaires, followed by the École supérieure des arts et médias (Ésam), the Dôme, the Bazarnaom, the Alexis de Tocqueville library and the Pavillon.
